As a father of three daughters, I am deeply committed to advocating for families, especially children. They are our future and deserve a safe, nurturing environment to become the individuals they aspire to be. I am passionate about championing their safety and well-being, ensuring they have the support they need to thrive.

  1. Over 80% of voters polled say they want elected officials to prioritize children and families. What are the top three issues affecting our children and families and how will you make our region a place where all families can thrive?

The top three issues impacting our children and families are the cost of living, affordable housing, and safety. To help families thrive, I will advocate for policies that improve living expenses, advocate affordable workforce housing, and support public safety. By addressing these areas, we can create a supportive environment where every child can grow safely and reach their full potential. Together, we can prioritize family well-being and ensure a brighter future for our children.

  2. High quality childcare improves school readiness and parents' workforce participation. What will you do to improve access to high quality childcare and preschool programs in our diverse communities?

To improve access to high-quality childcare and preschool programs in our diverse communities, I will support local providers with resources to enhance services and affordability. I will emphasize inclusivity to meet the diverse needs of families. By fostering partnerships with local organizations, we can ensure all families have access to the childcare essential for their children's success.

  3. Much of the student achievement gap has been linked to the opportunity gap that children in low-income families and children of color confront (e.g., lack of access to healthy food, preschool, tutors, and enrichment activities). If elected, what will you do to increase equity of opportunity?

If elected, I will support access to quality early childhood education and enrichment programs for low-income families and children of color. I will promote initiatives that provide healthy food options in schools and communities, ensuring no child goes hungry. Additionally, I will support programs to enhance academic achievement. By fostering partnerships with local organizations, we can create a comprehensive support system that helps bridge the opportunity gap for all children.

  4. What steps will you take to improve inclusion and outcomes for children with disabilities and their families in our community?

To improve inclusion and outcomes for children with disabilities and their families, I will advocate for a support network for families, providing vital resources and information. Additionally, I will promote family involvement in decision-making processes to ensure their voices shape policies and programs.

  5. If elected, how will you use the resources of your new role to improve children's well-being and access to mental and behavioral health services?

If elected, I will advocate for improved mental health programs in our community and strengthen partnerships with local organizations to train educators and caregivers in early issue identification. I will enhance accessibility to mental health resources and support awareness campaigns to promote understanding. My goal is to create a comprehensive support system for children's mental health and overall well-being.
