Every child is unique and deserves the opportunity to thrive. My mission is to ensure that each child’s individual needs are met through inclusive, equitable, and supportive education and community programs, empowering families to build strong foundations for their children’s futures.

Over 80% of voters polled say they want elected officials to prioritize children and families. What are the top three issues affecting our children and families and how will you make our region a place where all families can thrive?
1. Educational Equity: Ensure every child has access to quality education tailored to their needs, including special education and vocational training.
2. Mental Health Support: Expand resources for student mental health to provide early intervention and support.
3. Inclusive Community: Promote policies that support diverse family structures and needs, including affordable housing and access to childcare.
I will collaborate with community leaders and use data-driven strategies to create an inclusive environment where all families can thrive. -
High quality childcare improves school readiness and parents' workforce participation. What will you do to improve access to high quality childcare and preschool programs in our diverse communities?
To improve access to high-quality childcare and preschool, I will advocate for increased funding to expand affordable childcare options and early education programs. I will support initiatives that provide professional development for childcare providers to enhance program quality. I’ll also work to strengthen partnerships between public and private sectors to create more accessible, culturally responsive programs that reflect the diverse needs of our community. Ensuring that all families have access to these crucial services is essential for child development and parent workforce participation.

Much of the student achievement gap has been linked to the opportunity gap that children in low-income families and children of color confront (e.g., lack of access to healthy food, preschool, tutors, and enrichment activities). If elected, what will you do to increase equity of opportunity?
I will work to expand access to resources like tutoring, nutritious meals, and enrichment activities for low-income families. I’ll advocate for increased funding for early childhood education and after-school programs, ensuring that every child, regardless of background, has the support needed to succeed. Partnering with community organizations, I will push for holistic solutions that address systemic inequities, including support for housing stability and family economic security, to close the opportunity gap and promote a more equitable future for all children.

What steps will you take to improve inclusion and outcomes for children with disabilities and their families in our community?
I will prioritize inclusive education by expanding special education resources and training for teachers. I’ll advocate for individualized support plans that recognize each child’s unique needs and strengths. I will ensure parents are active partners in decision-making processes and that they have access to necessary support and services. Collaborating with community organizations, I will promote programs that foster social inclusion, increase accessibility, and provide opportunities for all children to succeed academically and socially.

If elected, how will you use the resources of your new role to improve children's well-being and access to mental and behavioral health services?
I will advocate for increased funding for school-based mental health services and the hiring and retention of qualified counselors and psychologists to ensure every child has access to support. I’ll promote the integration of mental health education into the curriculum starting in elementary school to reduce stigma and encourage early intervention. By partnering with local health organizations, I will work to create a comprehensive network of services that includes community-based programs, providing families with resources to address mental and behavioral health challenges and support overall well-being.
